One summer day, the sun shone brightly and the land felt dry and dusty. A thirsty crow flew for a long time, searching for water. His throat felt scratchy, and his wings grew tired.
At last, he saw a tall clay pot in a quiet courtyard. He hopped closer with hope in his eyes. There was water inside—but it was too low for his beak to reach!
The crow tried to tip the pot, but it was heavy. He tried to squeeze inside, but the neck was too narrow. For a moment he felt sad. Then he looked around and noticed small pebbles on the ground.
“I have an idea,← he thought. One by one, he picked up the pebbles and dropped them into the pot. Plink… plink… plink… The water rose higher and higher.
Soon the water reached the top. The crow dipped his beak and drank cool, sweet water. He felt strong again and flew into the blue sky with a happy caw.
The animals who watched him learned something wonderful: when a problem seems hard, a clever plan and a patient heart can find the way.
