🐢 Bedtime Moral Story

The Tortoise and the Hare

A famous race between a boastful hare and a quiet tortoise who never gives up.

The Tortoise and the Hare

In a bright green forest, a speedy hare loved to brag. “I am the fastest animal here!← he said every day. “No one can beat me.← The other animals grew tired of his boasting.

One morning, a calm tortoise lifted his head and said, “I will race you.← The hare laughed so hard he nearly fell over. “You? Race me? This will be easy!←

All the animals gathered at the starting line. The fox waved a leaf like a flag, and the race began. The hare dashed ahead like a flash of wind. The tortoise moved slowly, step by careful step.

The tortoise finishes while the hare sleeps

Soon the hare was so far ahead that he could not even see the tortoise. Feeling proud and sleepy, he stretched under a shady tree. “I will rest for a little while,← he yawned. “The tortoise is far behind.←

While the hare slept, the tortoise kept walking. He did not stop. He did not hurry. He simply continued, steady and strong, through the warm afternoon light.

When the hare finally woke, he heard cheering. He raced toward the finish line—but it was too late. The tortoise had already crossed it!

The forest celebrated the quiet winner. The hare hung his head, and the tortoise smiled gently. From that day, everyone remembered: you do not need to be the fastest—you only need to keep going.
